FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Direct answers about participating, publishing, and finding knowledge without overstating certainty where evidence is only partial.

DevHub

What is DevHub 404?
It is an open infrastructure for technical discovery and contribution. “404” names the gap between what you need and what you have not found yet. DevHub turns that gap into a path for investigation and action.
Do I need an account to use it?
Most content is public. An account is required for actions such as publishing, voting, saving, answering, and managing your profile.
Is DevHub a social network?
No. There are profiles and interactions, but the product is organized around needs, not followers, global reputation, or an endless timeline. Attention already has enough predators.

Content

When should I write an Article?
When the content has authorship and a point of view: a guide, analysis, tutorial, demonstration, or technical experience.
What is the difference between Article, Codex, and Q&A?
An Article is an authored publication; Codex and Cheatsheet are structured references; Q&A starts with a concrete question and answers to solve it.
How does Q&A work?
Post a focused question with enough context. It cannot be edited afterward; when an answer solves your need, you can mark it and freeze the thread.
What are Resources?
Useful external references, such as documentation, libraries, APIs, repositories, books, and other materials.

Discovery and interactions

How does search work?
Search uses textual relevance and can be filtered by tags. Tags shown in content are clickable and open Explore with that filter applied.
What does Vote mean?
A positive Vote signals that content was useful to you. It is not a certification of truth, seniority, or author reputation.
How do Popular and Trending work?
Popular considers total positive votes. Trending considers votes received recently. Recent prioritizes publication date.
Does a vote confirm that something is true?
No. Vote records usefulness for the voter; it is not a certification of truth, seniority, or author reputation.
How do I receive notifications?
Relevant notifications appear in the profile menu and are updated by polling. Votes, views, and simple ranking changes do not generate notifications.

Community and safety

How do I report a problem?
Use Report on the corresponding content. This preserves the target and the context needed for review.
Are Jobs verified by DevHub?
The publisher is responsible for the opportunity. DevHub applies rules and moderation, but does not guarantee hiring, payment, or legitimacy. Verify identity and contract before proceeding.
How does DevHub handle incorrect content?
Reports record a claim for review. The team may preserve context, limit exposure, and apply moderation decisions under the rules; no decision is an absolute guarantee of truth.
